This role requires a skilled Panel Beater with solid experience in structural repairs, welding, and bodywork on a variety of vehicles operating in Papua New Guinea. You must be detail-oriented, able to work independently, and committed to delivering high-standard repairs in a busy workshop environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in vehicle body repair and panel beating.
  • Demonstrated skill in straightening frames, replacing panels, welding, and preparing surfaces for painting.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and body shop equipment (e.g., frame machines, MIG welders).
  • High school education or equivalent; formal trade certification is a plus but not mandatory with proven experience.
  • Keen eye for detail and commitment to high-quality finish work.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess vehicle damage and plan repair procedures.
  • Remove, repair, or replace damaged body panels and structural components.
  • Perform precise metal shaping, welding, and alignment to restore vehicles to factory specifications.
  • Prepare repaired surfaces for painting by sanding, filling, and priming.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with workshop standards.
  • Collaborate with painters and other technicians to ensure seamless workflow.
